DeFur Voran LLP adds two new attorneys
DeFur Voran LLP proudly announces the addition of two new attorneys. Abigail E. Gulde and Ashlyn R. Carter recently joined DeFur Voran in the New Castle and Fishers offices.
Abbey is from Rushville and graduated from Indiana University Bloomington with degrees in Political Science and Theater & Dance and from the Indiana University Maurer School of Law in Bloomington. During law school, she was a board member for the Environmental and International Law Societies. For her 1L summer, Abigail was selected to take part in Maurer’s Stewart Fellows Global Internship Program, through which she traveled to Poland and interned at their Office of the Ombudsman in Warsaw. She will work out of the New Castle and Muncie offices.
Ashlyn joined the firm after working at DeFur Voran as a summer associate in 2020. She previously served as a legal extern with Indiana University Health and Franciscan Health. Ashlyn was born and raised in Fishers and graduated from Hamilton Southeastern High School. She earned her undergraduate and law degrees from Indiana University Bloomington with high distinction and honors, and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law, where she was an associate editor for Indiana Health Law Review, a Dean’s Tutorial Society Legal Writing Fellow, and Vice President of Health Law Society. She will be working primarily out of the Fishers office.
Managing Partner Rob Emmerson says “we are thrilled to add Abbey and Ashlyn as associates at DeFur Voran. They are both wonderful people with excellent academic credentials. Abbey is a lifelong resident of east central Indiana and will make an immediate impact in the communities we serve; and Ashlyn’s time as a clerk with us illustrated her immense potential and ability to handle difficult projects with great thought and thorough analysis. They have already hit the ground running.”
