Congratulations to Scott E. Shockley, Matt Kelsey, Jarryd Anglin, Kelli Liggett, and Daniel Rey-Silva who have been named to the Indiana Super Lawyers list for 2023.  Super Lawyers is a rating service of outstanding attorneys from more than 70 practice areas who have attained a high degree of professional achievement and peer recognition.  The selection process is multi-phased and includes independent research, peer nominations and peer evaluations. Attorneys selected as Super Lawyers represent the top 5% of lawyers in each state.  Rising Stars are attorneys who represent the top 2.5% of attorneys who are 40 years or younger or have been practicing law for less than ten years.

This is the seventeenth time since 2004 that Scott Shockley has been named to the Super Lawyers list.  He practices in the areas of Litigation, Personal Injury, Employment Law, and Business Disputes.  He joined DeFur Voran in 1985 and previously served as an Assistant United States Attorney in Indianapolis and Chief Deputy District Attorney for Denver, Colorado.  He is a graduate of Yale University and the University of Denver School of Law.

This is the tenth consecutive selection as a Rising Star for Matt Kelsey.  He has practiced law since 2010 with DeFur Voran and concentrates his practice on Litigation, Education Law, and Business Law.  Matt graduated from Ball State University and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

This is the sixth time that Jarryd Anglin has been selected as a Rising Star.  He joined DeFur Voran in 2018 and concentrates his practice areas in Insurance Defense and Worker’s Compensation. Jarryd graduated from Indiana University and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

This is the first time that Kelli Liggett has been recognized as a Rising Star.  She began her practice  with DeFur Voran in 2014 in estate planning and elder law before serving as the lead attorney of our Immigration Law Group. Kelli is a graduate of Butler University and Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.

Daniel Rey-Silva is also being recognized for the first time as a Rising Star. Prior to joining DeFur Voran in 2022, Daniel focused his practice on family law and litigation. He is a bilingual attorney now serving in our Immigration Law Group. Daniel is a graduate of IUPUI and the Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law.
